Charleston School of Law Students

First-year grades are important -- very important. Your 1L grades at Charleston School of Law will not only determine your eligibility for law review and other honors, but will dictate what job opportunities are available when you graduate. This is because the most selective legal employers recruit law students at the beginning of their second year, and they often will only interview law students who finished at the top of their 1L class. Given the staggering cost of a legal education, and a highly competitive legal hiring market, adopting a trial-and-error approach as a 1L is a flawed strategy. Learn why preparing for the challenges you will face during your first year of law school can help protect the substantial investment you are about to make in your legal education.

What Charleston School of Law Students Say

More than 99% of our surveyed customers have said Law Preview met or exceeded their expectations:

I am not ranked because I have yet to meet the credit hour threshold for being ranked (I am a part-time student). However, in 3 classes, I've managed to secure an A- in legal research and writing, an A- in civil procedure, and a B+ in contracts, amounting to a 3.556 GPA. The most important aspect I could say that I learned from Law Preview is how to brief and to ALWAYS brief your cases. . . . [T]he general discussions about law school (studying strategies, time management, success strategies, etc.) were invaluable.

—Robert W., Charleston School of Law, Class of 2011

Law Preview helped me get to the top of my class and stay there. The experience allows you to be going full speed on the first day of class while other students are still trying to adjust/figure out what is going on. I found Law Preview helpful on so many different fronts that I don't have enough space to explain all of them. I found the overviews of core 1L classes helpful. However, the most helpful thing to me was being in a law school setting with professors calling on people and covering materials that were assigned. It taught me how to brief and gave me a schedule that I followed the entire year. I also found the exam taking and legal writing information very helpful. Overall, it was well worth the money and time to get an edge on other students and help vault me to the top of the class. Staying there after the first year is now my only concern and with the help of Law Preview it is possible.
