Cornell Law Students
First-year grades are important -- very important. Your 1L grades at Cornell Law School will not only determine your eligibility for law review and other honors, but will dictate what job opportunities are available when you graduate. This is because the most selective legal employers recruit law students at the beginning of their second year, and they often will only interview law students who finished at the top of their 1L class. Given the staggering cost of a legal education, and a highly competitive legal hiring market, adopting a trial-and-error approach as a 1L is a flawed strategy. Learn why preparing for the challenges you will face during your first year of law school can help protect the substantial investment you are about to make in your legal education.

I attended your Law Preview course in San Francisco over the summer. I just wanted to write you to thank you for helping me so much my first semester. I am convinced that if it had not been for your program, I would not have done so well on my finals (3.93 here at Cornell). And your tip about bringing in little things that excited the professor helped me to net an A+ in Torts, which additionally helped me to get a summer job researching for that professor . . . If you ever needed a testimonial or someone to speak volumes of your program, I'm your man.
Thank god for Law Preview - I followed the schedule EXACTLY. Without it I would have been completely lost first semester. After law preview and a year of hard work at Cornell, I finished with a 3.95 cumulative GPA. My grades speak for themselves. Take Law Preview!!!
I guess now's the time of year when you hear good news. I want to add mine to the crowd...I attended the July session in D.C., and it gave me a great introduction as to what to expect during my first semester. When I got to school, I was ready to go! I worked hard, and it paid off...much more than I expected. I got straight A's, and an A+ in civil procedure (known to be one of the hardest exams)! I would definitely recommend the program to others--thanks for having this kind of program in place!
