St. John's Law Students
First-year grades are important -- very important. Your 1L grades at St. John's University School of Law will not only determine your eligibility for law review and other honors, but will dictate what job opportunities are available when you graduate. This is because the most selective legal employers recruit law students at the beginning of their second year, and they often will only interview law students who finished at the top of their 1L class. Given the staggering cost of a legal education, and a highly competitive legal hiring market, adopting a trial-and-error approach as a 1L is a flawed strategy. Learn why preparing for the challenges you will face during your first year of law school can help protect the substantial investment you are about to make in your legal education.
More than 99% of our surveyed customers have said Law Preview met or exceeded their expectations:
Having worked for several years before applying to law schools, I was nervous about getting back into a school setting. I signed up for Law Preview, hoping that it would re-acclimate me to the classroom, the note taking, and the concentration I would need to get by in law school. I was happy with the week I spent, feeling confident that at the very least, I would not be completely lost when classes began. After a week of school, however, I realized that I had received much much more from the week I spent with Law Preview. I knew how to read and understand cases, which reduced the stress of preparing for classes, and gave me more time to outline and review my notes. I was able to prepare for finals throughout the semester, using the strategies Law Preview gave me to attack outlining, studying, and test taking. Law school exams are hard, but Law Preview helps to maximize your potential by showing you how to focus your time and concentrate on the important issues. I ended my first year near the top of my class. I was invited to join Law Review and I interned for a federal judge in my first year summer. Now, nearing the end of my second year, I am looking forward to a summer associate position at one of New York's top law firms. I owe many thanks to Law Preview!
It gave me a more comfortable sense of what law school was going to be like. The lectures on how to prepare and what not to get caught up in and waste time with really kept me focused on the task at hand, which was getting good grades. I was in the top 16% of my class this first semester and at least some of that work has to be attributed from some of the stuff I gained from Law Preview. The exam taking strategies and writing skills helped as well.
