FSU Law Students
First-year grades are important -- very important. Your 1L grades at The Florida State University College of Law will not only determine your eligibility for law review and other honors, but will dictate what job opportunities are available when you graduate. This is because the most selective legal employers recruit law students at the beginning of their second year, and they often will only interview law students who finished at the top of their 1L class. Given the staggering cost of a legal education, and a highly competitive legal hiring market, adopting a trial-and-error approach as a 1L is a flawed strategy. Learn why preparing for the challenges you will face during your first year of law school can help protect the substantial investment you are about to make in your legal education.

I just wanted to thank you for the program and the personal attention you give all of us. I couldn't believe the in-depth emails I received from you. . . . I attended your 6-day session at Harvard in August and loved it. I stayed focused and followed your plan and I have benefited greatly at the Florida State University College of Law. I have been waiting to receive my fifth grade for weeks and I am just too excited not to tell you how I did now. I received the highest grade in my 4 credit Civ. Pro (99). Also, I received the highest grade in my Legal Writing class by 3 points (97). I made a 95 in my 4-credit Torts and a 94 in 2-credit Property. My average is a 96.5 and the closest person to me in my section is at a 93.5.
