Tulane Law Students
First-year grades are important -- very important. Your 1L grades at Tulane University Law School will not only determine your eligibility for law review and other honors, but will dictate what job opportunities are available when you graduate. This is because the most selective legal employers recruit law students at the beginning of their second year, and they often will only interview law students who finished at the top of their 1L class. Given the staggering cost of a legal education, and a highly competitive legal hiring market, adopting a trial-and-error approach as a 1L is a flawed strategy. Learn why preparing for the challenges you will face during your first year of law school can help protect the substantial investment you are about to make in your legal education.

t was very helpful having a preview of each course, the vocabulary and general concepts of my first-semester curriculum. The familiarity with first-year law school concepts allowed me to internalize the issues rather than just trying to understand them. Experiencing the diversity of teaching methods from Law Preview enabled me to better prepare and adjust to each of the teaching styles of my professors [ranked #5 out of 240 after first semester].
I think Law Preview gave me a huge advantage coming into 1L year. Rather than coming in with a vague notion that law school would be hard work, I had a clear plan of exactly what kind of work I needed to be doing and how to do it. It was also very helpful getting the alumni updates so you feel like you're not alone and have people who actually understand what law school is like and have been through it there to answer any questions, give advice, and encourage you to stay on track. Though my school doesn't rank 1st year students until the end of 2nd semester, grades are in and I'm thrilled with the results. I got 3 As and 1 B+. I even got the A in my Torts class. I definitely don't think I would have done as well without Law Preview. Thanks!
