University of Pittsburgh Law Students

First-year grades are important -- very important. Your 1L grades at University of Pittsburgh School of Law will not only determine your eligibility for law review and other honors, but will dictate what job opportunities are available when you graduate. This is because the most selective legal employers recruit law students at the beginning of their second year, and they often will only interview law students who finished at the top of their 1L class. Given the staggering cost of a legal education, and a highly competitive legal hiring market, adopting a trial-and-error approach as a 1L is a flawed strategy. Learn why preparing for the challenges you will face during your first year of law school can help protect the substantial investment you are about to make in your legal education.

What University of Pittsburgh Law Students Say

More than 99% of our surveyed customers have said Law Preview met or exceeded their expectations:

I took Law Preview in Philly last summer and the exam strategy class in DC last fall. I just had to write to say thank you again. I got a 3.71 my first semester and wow has it paid off. I was approached by one of my professor's a few weeks ago and was asked if I would be interested in a summer research assistant position. The professor had heard of me from a few of my professors last semester. She looked over my resume and grades and hired me for the summer to do research on a law review article and book she is writing. Then, as if things weren't going well enough, the law school awarded me a retroactive scholarship in the amount of $10,000 a year based on my first semester achievements. They don't want me to transfer I guess. I have recommended the program to all of my undergraduate friends who are planning to go to law school next year. I also told them that the exam strategy course is perfect for going into exams and it is offered at the perfect time. The program has definitely paid for itself.

On the first day of law school classes, I felt completely prepared for the experience. I was already ahead of most of my class in knowing how to brief a case, create an outline, and take lecture notes that would help me prepare for exams. I also had a unique understanding of the subject material in my first year classes due to the fantastic road map provided by each of my Law Preview professors. I'm currently ranked #1 out of 320 students and I don't think I would be having nearly the academic success that I'm having today without the solid grounding that Law Preview provided. I can't say enough good things about my Law Preview experience -- it was worth every dime and a whole lot more. It may be the best kept secret for how to prepare and succeed in law school!
