University of Utah Law Students
First-year grades are important -- very important. Your 1L grades at University of Utah College of Law will not only determine your eligibility for law review and other honors, but will dictate what job opportunities are available when you graduate. This is because the most selective legal employers recruit law students at the beginning of their second year, and they often will only interview law students who finished at the top of their 1L class. Given the staggering cost of a legal education, and a highly competitive legal hiring market, adopting a trial-and-error approach as a 1L is a flawed strategy. Learn why preparing for the challenges you will face during your first year of law school can help protect the substantial investment you are about to make in your legal education.
More than 99% of our surveyed customers have said Law Preview met or exceeded their expectations:
On the first day of law school classes, I felt completely prepared for the experience. I was already ahead of most of my class in knowing how to brief a case, create an outline, and take lecture notes that would help me prepare for exams. I also had a unique understanding of the subject material in my first year classes due to the fantastic road map provided by each of my Law Preview professors. I'm currently ranked #1 out of 320 students and I don't think I would be having nearly the academic success that I'm having today without the solid grounding that Law Preview provided. I can't say enough good things about my Law Preview experience -- it was worth every dime and a whole lot more. It may be the best kept secret for how to prepare and succeed in law school!
My law school only ranks the top three students in our class. I was not one of them. However, after the first semester I was comfortably in the top 20%, made Law Review, and was accepted for a summer internship with a state supreme court justice. Though Law Preview was a long time ago, I think the experience gave me a solid advantage in the opening weeks of my first semester. I think the experience of feeling what a law class is like and figuring out what to look for when reading cases was a huge help. When it comes to preparing for law school, nothing beats the act of actually doing the assignments and attending the lectures. I felt comfortable with that experience before the first week of classes actually began in a large part thanks to Law Preview.
