Baker & McKenzie Law Preview Scholarship Criteria
To be eligible to become a Baker & McKenzie Law Preview Scholarship recipient, applicants must be enrolled to begin classes at George Washington University Law School in the fall of 2012. In keeping with our firm's commitment to improving diversity in the legal profession, preference will be given to applicants who are members of a racial/ethnic group which has been historically underrepresented in the legal profession or members of the LGBT community. Applications will be accepted now until May 10, 2012. A selection panel will evaluate all completed applications, and scholarship recipients will be notified via email by June 1, 2012.

You have been accepted to a top law school and that is an accomplishment for which you can be extremely proud. Undoubtedly, you know that academic success during the first year of law school is critical. In addition to determining honors like Law Review membership, the most selective legal employers often rely almost exclusively on students' 1L grades when deciding who to interview for Summer Associate positions. Consequently, students' first-year grades can directly impact the job opportunities available to them upon graduation. Baker & McKenzie is a long-standing leader in promoting greater diversity in the legal profession. When we began exploring ways to help students to better position themselves for a very competitive legal market, we learned about Law Preview and how it has helped students excel during the all-important 1L year.
