About Sarah's Career

Sarah took Law Preview in 2003 before starting her 1L year at Roger Williams University School of Law. After graduation, she received an L.L.M. in taxation from University of Washington School of Law. Sarah has one of the most unique practices we've profiled because she has figured out a way to be a BigLaw associate without being tied to a major metropolitan city.

After graduating from the University of Washington, she joined Patton Boggs LLP as an associate in their Anchorage, Alaska office, advising clients on a broad range of issues, including: business formation, regulation compliance, tax-exempt status and related issues, complex litigation, and administrative and appellate work. Focusing on Alaska Native owned businesses, she handles matters of corporate law and governance, securities law, real estate, contracts, employment practices and executive compensation. Sarah also assists Alaska Native Corporations navigate the intricacies of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) and the Alaska corporations laws.

Sarah's law practice requires her to regularly travel some of the most remote parts of the state. Talk about taking the path less traveled -- not many lawyers can say they encountered eight polar bears on their last business trip!

Law Preview Student Testimonials

A legal education is like no other academic endeavor and, as such, requires a different skill set. Law Preview not only gives you the necessary skills, but also provides you with a free opportunity to practice and use them as well. The result is unparalleled. It was the best introduction to law school I could have asked for. What is the saying, 'The first year they scare you to death?' Well, Law Preview certainly helped to alleviate that fear and helped make me feel more comfortable in the classroom as a result. I can't thank Law Preview enough for the head start it provided and I strongly recommend it to anyone starting their legal education.
