[Law Schools: All] [Graduation Year: All]

Law Preview was an enormous help. I went in with a clear advantage over most other students since I already knew how to read and brief cases, the point of the Socratic method, how to take notes, how to outline, AND how to take exams. This saved me hours of time and was, I believe, instrumental in my first semster GPA of 3.86. That GPA placed me on the right track for the rest of my law school experience, which has included an internship on a Circuit Court of Appeals, Law Review, and several V10 firm offers. I could have done this without Law Preview, but it definitely would have been a lot harder.

—Anonymous, Vanderbilt University Law School, Class of 2008

I think even beyond the valuable information that was given in regards to the substantive course materials I would learn as a 1L, the most practical and beneficial Law Preview provided for me was a realistic look into a typical day as a 1L, what to expect, and how to position myself to be successful.

—Marc L., Villanova University School of Law, Class of 2008

[Law Preview] provided me with the knowledge that I needed to focus the procedure that I used to study and prepare for exams. It also helped me to focus my exam taking technique. I felt like I understood how to succeed and just needed to execute the plan while most students needed to learn how to succeed through trial and error.

—Robert D., Villanova University School of Law, Class of 2008

It helped to focus me and I felt more prepared for my classes and exams. Learning how to brief cases was invaluable.

—Anonymous, Villanova University School of Law, Class of 2008

I ended up with a 3.81 which would have been 4th in [last year's] class (I won't know my actual class rank until after second semester) I believe that Law Preview was a substantial factor in my success in law school.

—Joseph M., Villanova University School of Law, Class of 2010

[Law Preview] gave an excellent overview of briefing cases and introduction to the various first year courses. Highly recommended to avoid the "panic" of preparing your first law school brief for homework. [Rank 12 out of 243]

—Anonymous, Villanova University School of Law, Class of 2010

I am positive that I was neither the smartest person in the class nor the hardest worker. While I did work hard and feel that I am smart, I believe that one of the biggest reasons for my success was that I knew how to take a law school exam. As others in my class took law school exams for the first time first semester and often repeated their mistakes during second semester, I confidently utilized the tools Law Preview provided me. This ability, perhaps more than anything else, is responsible for me being among the top handful of students in my class [#5 out of 243].

—Anonymous, Villanova University School of Law, Class of 2010

I think it showed me not so much of the mechanical tools (briefing, etc) but more of a nice lay of the land, and some other useful tips to get a head start [ranked #10 out of 256 after first semester].

—Anonymous, Villanova University School of Law, Class of 2011

I think Law Preview's biggest affect in my law school experience was how they provided you a schedule to stick with, and provided a great tutorial on exam taking. Everyone learns the substantive material differently, but you have to be able to put that information on paper at exam time. I never felt as though I grasped the material better than other students, but I think that my approach to the exams helped me perform [ranked #2 out of 251 students].

Law Preview gave me an edge my first semester of law school that I would not have had otherwise.

—Michael R., Villanova University School of Law, Class of 2011

Don, I just wanted to drop you a line and thank you for the Law Preview program. I just finished my first semester at Wake Forest and finished with a 92.1 gpa (out of 100). More important than the grades, I never got stressed out or depressed about law school. Not even once. I knew what I had to do to succeed and I stuck to the plan. It feels very good to know that all it takes to succeed in law school is a great plan and a lot of hard work. This semester I intend to be more efficient than I was last semester, while still putting in the same amount of time and effort. I have never been more excited about school! Thanks again.

—Brad P., Wake Forest University School of Law, Class of 2008

I was terrified about going to law school. Talking to lawyers and current law students just made it worse. I knew I needed something to give me some confidence and teach me how to survive in what I'd been told was an incredibly harsh environment. I found Law Preview. After the session was over I was still nervous, but I wasn't in the dark. What I discovered was that Law Preview gave me such a huge advantage over my peers that I almost felt bad for them. Almost. A year later, I'm one of the Top 15 students in my class and on Law Review. I am very, very grateful to Law Preview and its faculty.

—S.B., Wake Forest University School of Law, Class of 2007

I attended Law Preview at Harvard about this time last year. My first year was very successful. I'm ranked in the top ten (by #) of my class, made law review, and moot court. I enjoyed your program and thought it provided useful insight to prepare for the first year.

—Bryce L., Wake Forest University School of Law, Class of 2005

An ounce of preperation is worth a pound of cure. Law Preview prepared me for the challenge and rigor that left other students surprised and even shell-shocked. I have recommended Law Preview to 3 friends who are beginning their law school experience this fall.

—Anonymous, Wake Forest University School of Law, Class of 2008

Law Preview gives you an overview of what your first year experience, but it doesn't really teach you how to "think" like a law student. That's something that you'll learn on your own throughout your first year of law school. Unfortunately for other students that never experienced Law Preview, they are at a serious disadvantage because they are attempting to accomplish this as well as attempting to see the bigger picture in first-year courses. Law Preview paints that picture for you, you can focus on gaining those analytical skills that are critical to success. Not only that, Law Preview helps alleviate the stress and anxiety every first year student encounters. Because of Law Preview's strategies, I reached my goals of being in the top 10% during my first year, and am only more determined to do better. Thanks Law Preview!

Law Preview helped me realize what a huge undertaking the 1L year is. The suggested study schedule was very helpful and helped me to understand how much time was necessary to really learn the 1L material. It was very useful to learn how to brief a case and have a brief template before school started.

—Irena P., Wake Forest University School of Law, Class of 2009

Law Preview prepared me for the realities of rigorous first semester. [Ranked 32 out of 147].

—Anonymous, Wake Forest University School of Law, Class of 2012

Law Preview allowed me to come into my first-year knowing what was coming. I knew how I would take notes, brief cases, make outlines, and study for finals. I did not waste time spinning my wheels like many of my classmates did. I was able to focus on what I had to do, without worrying about how smart my classmates were and who was working harder than me. I may not have put in as many hours as some of my classmates, but with Law Preview's help, the hours I put in were all well spent.

—Tyler W., Washington and Lee University School of Law, Class of 2008

Law Preview stressed the importance of outlines, studying, and reviewing from the beginning, which gave me one step ahead of the rest of my class. They didn't start reviewing/outlining until later, whereas I had continually updated my outline throughout the year.
