[Law Schools: All]
[Graduation Year: All]
|
Law Preview definitely gave me an edge on my classmates. I had already seen cases and learned rules that they were seeing for the first time. It also gave me the opportunity to meet law students at schools all over the nation that I still keep in contact with. It was a rewarding experience that helped me tremendously. [Ranked #40 out of 603 students after first semester].

Law Preview helped me prepare for the intense workload and challenges that I was going to face by giving it to me straight. The program's name is an appropriate description of what they do - they give you an accurate preview of what life as a 1L is going to be like. Their candor gave me an edge to the other incoming students who were floored by the mass expectations poured upon them. As many others can tell you, your first year is part academic challenges and part psychological challenges. Granted there are individual experiences they cannot prepare you for, but they tell you what to expect in a practical way which you cannot get from reading One L by Scott Turow. The professors that come teach are extremely nice, and help prepare you to engage in dialogue and not be afraid of the material or of trying to understanding and failing from time to time. The key to succeeding in law school is accepting that it is normal to feel confused, but to practice tenacity, and lots of it. Never give up. A support group like Law Preview sending you encouraging e-mails throughout the semester doesn't hurt either. At the end of the first year, I proudly boast a 3.37 GPA and have achieved a phenomenal rank. While I cannot downplay the importance of individual determination, I also cannot downplay the advantage I received by attending Law Preview.

As great as gaining a general working knowledge of first-year courses is, what really sets Law Preview apart are the little things. Whether it be learning how to brief cases or strategies for daily studying and exam-taking, it's these little nuances that give a great sense of empowerment and confidence from day one, making Law Preview an unbelievably helpful and overall positive experience.

Law Preview was invaluable, I truly had an enormous head start. I am in the evening program at FIU and we are not ranked until May but my GPA was good enough for me to qualify for Dean's List. Thank You!

I felt totally prepared for the first semester. That comfort made a huge difference come exam time. Then second semester, I only had to keep pace to maintain a good rank, not bust my butt like some of my classmates.

Law Preview gave me a good grasp on the different fields of law studied during the first year of law school. It also introduced me to famous cases and how to brief them, which gave me a monumental step up over my colleagues. [Ranked 10 out of 160].

I just wanted to thank you for the program and the personal attention you give all of us. I couldn't believe the in-depth emails I received from you. . . . I attended your 6-day session at Harvard in August and loved it. I stayed focused and followed your plan and I have benefited greatly at the Florida State University College of Law. I have been waiting to receive my fifth grade for weeks and I am just too excited not to tell you how I did now. I received the highest grade in my 4 credit Civ. Pro (99). Also, I received the highest grade in my Legal Writing class by 3 points (97). I made a 95 in my 4-credit Torts and a 94 in 2-credit Property. My average is a 96.5 and the closest person to me in my section is at a 93.5.

Law Preview gave me exactly what its name implies, a preview of what to expect at law school.

Law Preview was one of the best things I could have done for myself! It did much more than just give me a survey of the subjects I'd be seeing, Law Preview gave me a way to attack my first semester of law school. The tips and scheduling aids that Law Preview follows up with also make life as a first year so much easier. Instead of going through first year on my own, I really feel like I have a great team behind me! I'm pleased to say that I just got my first semester grades back and currently have a 4.0. I'm looking forward to the rest of this year!

Because of Law Preview I arrived at law school knowing what to expect and prepared to handle every challenge. The amazing professors sparked my interest in all my classes which has carried over throughout my first year. After the week-long workshop was over, Law Preview's timely emails reinforced the lessons learned and offered much-needed encouragement. I attribute my success in law school to the confidence and dedication that Law Preview taught me. This is a worthwhile investment that has already paid off and that I expect will continue to do so. Thank you Law Preview!

I took the Law Preview class in NY two summers ago. It helped solidify my decision to go to law school. I began in Fordham Law School this past fall. My courses are year long, but my midterm grade in Contracts and in Torts was B+. Additionally, I had two professors recommend Getting to Maybe. Needless to say, I was thrilled that I had already read the book because you recommended it. Thank you for the great experience two summers ago and for the continuous advice. The value of Law Preview has proven its worth over and over again in this academic year.

This course is very under-rated. Having contact with law professors who are experts in their fields, as well as Law Preview's Founders is an invaluable resource, one that presumably lasts beyond the week of the course and well into our law school career. I haven't heard of similar personal attention being offered by any other company and that alone makes the experience worthwhile.

The legal writing seminar was the most amazing thing -- my legal writing class leaves much to be desired. Very little is actually explained and we are mostly left to teach ourselves how to write and how to research. Undoubtedly the amazing presentation that you offered gave me an incredible amount of knowledge on the basics of research that's going to make a supreme difference when we get into our long memo and brief . . . I want you to personally know the difference you and Law Preview have made in my endeavors to succeed, which are largely dictated by the confidence Law Preview has instilled in me. Thank you again.

Law Preview gave me a solid foundation, a great study program and a concrete approach to law school. I never felt lost or overwhelmed because the approach and attitude that Law Preview champions was my guiding star. I finished up the year with a 4.04 average and was offered admission to Columbia Law school as a transfer. Now I have to decide whether to stay or go, but it's a great choice to have!

It definitely made me less stressed initially because I did have an advantage going in.

Fordham doesn't publish class rank. My GPA was 3.54, which is just shy of 10%(3.55). It was helpful to learn some of the black letter law before beginning, and it certainly gave me something to hang my hat on coming in to law school. The exam practice and strategy sessions gave me good insight into what kind of personal and mental organization is required for high marks. The most tangible benefit was a greater sense of calm at the outset, a notion that I knew what was coming and what I would have to do in order to meet my goals.

Law Preview gave me a glimpse of what was to come in my 1L year and that is why it is so valuable. Understanding how to deal with and manage the workload is a vital part of law school success and Law Preview enables you to be ready for those first few weeks when everyone else is struggling to find a balance. Having a rough outline of when to begin reviewing/studying/outline gives you the advantage of having those things on your mind before anyone else and being able to implement a successful plan of attack at the earliest opportunity.

My school does not rank but I was in the top 10-12% after the first year and within the top 6-7% at the end of the first semester.

It's pretty unbelievable to me that a year ago right now, I was getting ready to begin Law Preview. It's been a long, hard year, but a successful one. I finished out the year on Dean's List, and in the top 10% of my class at Fordham University School of Law! Not bad for someone who graduated from college five years ago with a degree in acting, and hadn't read more than a magazine since then. There were times over this past year that I would be in class, and would have a deep sense of deja vu, or I would somehow just instinctively know what the professor was asking or how to look at the issue. Of course, I realized pretty quickly that it wasn't actually deja vu or amazing natural legal ability on my part; so much of what was covered in my classes this year, we talked about in Law Preview. Just that one week of studying made so much of my coursework in the first year seem familiar, and much less intimidating. I guess this is just a long way of saying THANK YOU! And I would be happy to act as a reference for anyone who has questions as to whether or not they should do Law Preview (they should!).

Law Preview prepared me to treat law school like a full time job. It also gave me the knowledge that first year grades were the key to success for any one who wants to seek quality employment in the legal field.
