Professor Tim Davis is the John W. & Ruth H. Turnage Professor of Law at Wake Forest University School of Law. Prof. Davis teaches and writes about Contracts and Sports Law. He recently co-authored "Sports Law and Regulation: Cases, Materials and Problems." He is also the co-author of "The Business of Sports Agents" which was published by the University of Pennsylvania Press. In addition, he has co-authored anthologies on sports law and on race and the law (both published by Carolina Academic Press), and numerous law review articles. He has presented papers and lectures at academic conferences and continuing legal education seminars. Professor Davis serves on the Review Board for the United States Anti-Doping Agency. He is also a member of the Board of Advisors for the National Sports Law Institute and the Sports Lawyers Association. He is a former chair of the Law and Sports Section of the Association of American Law Schools. Professor Davis is a member of the Contracts Drafting Committee of the National Conference of Bar Examiners. Professor Davis has served on the Board of Governors of the North Carolina Bar Association and as chair of the Sports and Entertainment Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. He is also an advisor to Wake Forest's Sports and Entertainment Law Association and is a co-advisor to the Black Law Students Association. Professor Davis teaches Contracts I and II, Sale of Goods, and Sports Law. In 2005-06, he was elected Teacher of the Year by the graduating class at Wake Forest University School of Law. Professor Davis joined the Wake Forest faculty in 1998. Before then, he taught for nine years at Southern Methodist University School of Law, where he was the recipient of two teaching awards. Prior to teaching, Professor Davis practiced commercial litigation in Denver, Colorado following a federal district court clerkship.
