Aspen Publishers, one of the four brands of Wolters Kluwer Law & Business, is a leading information provider for attorneys, business professionals and law students. Aspen's distinguished authors produce some of the most widely adopted law school casebooks and it is the leading law school study aid publisher with popular series like Emanuel Law Outlines, Law-In-A-Flash and Crunchtime. Written by preeminent authorities, Aspen Publisher's trusted legal education resources provide professors and students with reliable, up-to-date and effective resources for successful instruction and study in all areas of the law.
WK understands that increasing the number of diverse law students is not enough to build a bigger pipeline; diverse students must also excel academically in law school in order to become the legal profession's next generation of leaders. Therefore, WK funds Law Preview's National Diversity Scholarship Fund to allow diverse law students to attend the Law Preview program -- an initiative that expands upon our other pipeline efforts by providing scholarship recipients with a week long law school prep course taught by some of the country's leading law professors. WK is proud to provide this solid foundation upon which our scholarship recipients can begin their legal studies.
National Diversity Scholarship Fund (NDSF) Criteria
To be eligible for a NDSF Scholarship, applicants must be: (i) a member of a historically underrepresented group in the legal profession; (ii) a member of the LGBT community; or (iii) first in their immediate family (excluding siblings) to attend college. Applicants must also be enrolled to begin classes at a NDSF-sponsored law school in the fall of 2012.
If chosen, NDSF-sponsored students agree to reply to periodic surveys that confidentially track their academic progress, matriculation/graduation status, bar exam results and employment opportunities.
If you meet the application criteria, complete the online application before May 1, 2012. The NDSF Selection Committee will evaluate all applications and notify scholarship recipients on a rolling basis starting May 20, 2012.
Wolters Kluwer is a leading global provider of comprehensive, in-depth solutions and expert-authored law-related content for the professional and education markets. As a result of our international reach, diversity is naturally a part of our DNA. We recognize, however, that the legal profession in the United States is not nearly as diverse as the population it seeks to serve and that is why we are proud supporters of the National Diversity Scholarship Fund (NDSF). Since 2004, Wolters Kluwer has supported Law Preview and its students by donating more than $150 of our most popular study aids to each student who attends the Law Preview class. Our contribution to the NDSF is but one more way we hope to make a real difference in the lives of law students and support a vision for making the legal profession more diverse.
